Late Night Modeling

So a couple of months ago i met this model and we finally worked together the other night.

Two speed lights & shot the whole thing in her apartment.

More after the jump.

We were aiming for a very film noir feel. She liked the idea of laying on the ripped newspapers, which were left over from one of her art projects.

I decided to go for a very warm feel and lit it with a CTO at 1/16th power, 1/4 HONL grid and a 1/2 CTB on 16th power & an 1/8th Grid for an accent/hair light and worked for about an hour & a half.

Most everything was shot with my 24-85 around f/4. It was very tight and cramped quarters although i would have preferred a tighter, compressed look.

My goal was to try and keep the light coming from the side as much as i could to give it that shadowy, contrasty look.

The only lensbaby shot i tried.

Trying to keep the light where i wanted it was a challenge, but worked well.

Worked very well, IMO.
