Kayaks!

I was asked to photograph a business assignment on a new, local kayak business.

This is the important part, kids. I saw an opportunity to take a daily assignment and make some neat features out of it. At the end of the day, i still take pictures for me and take photos i like.

(Its tight and compressed. Gives a sense of scale)

So i got the basic shots of putting the subjects in the water, average business stuff. Then i raced farther downstream to the remains of an old dam. Hiking on old, rocky structures with zillions of dollars of camera gear does make me nervous and rightfully so.

So i shot the kayakers coming down the river and then did what i mainly wanted to do, which was to get a high-contrast, textured photo with the kayakers in it, preferrably from above.

Works for me.

After awhile, i started shooting kayakers at f/22 in an effort to try and get a pan shot or some sort of motion. Of course it was a noontime and this was a lot harder then it sounds.
