Kentucky vs Florida Football
Its been almost a year since I covered a college football game and I'm trying to figure out if I'm rusty or if it was just Kentucky?

Womens Hoops: Georgia vs Mississippi State
Georgia forward Porsha Phillips (21) is fouled by Arkansas guard Lyndsay Harris (33) with five-tenths of a second to go in overtime as Georgia beats Arkansas 57-54 in an NCAA Women's basketball game at Stegeman Colisuem on Thursday, February 3, 2011 in Athens, Ga. Phillips finished with 9 points and 18 rebounds while Harris had a game-high 22 points. Phillips' 18 rebounds is the most in Georgia history in an SEC game.
I shoot women's basketball differently from men's. Instead of shooting from the corners during men's (due to the phenomenon of "Ref Ass"), i like to shoot more form inside and under the basket as there seems to be less legs to shoot through. Its also a little more violent in the paint.

The start of the play of from above.

Two Weeks of Tennis
Stanford's Mallory Burdette, bottom, is hugged by her sister as her teammates pile on as #8 Stanford beats #3 Florida 4-3 to win the NCAA Women's Tennis National Championships on Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex in Athens, Ga. Burdette won over Florida's Marrit Boonstra 6-4, 6-7 (4-7), 7-5.
Part of the reason i have been tardy at posting anything I've done lately was the NCAA 2010 Men's and Women's Tennis National Championships. (Or as Burks put it, two weeks of hell)
(Insisting on driving hours to see Dropkick Murphys is another reason but thats another story entirely. Someday I'll photograph them again)

Diving!
Brooke George of Clemson dives during 3-meter springboard competition during the Georgia Diving Invitational and Shootout on Monday at Gabrielsen Natatorium at the University of Georgia on Monday, Jan. 4, 2010 in Athens, Ga.
Despite working around top-flight sports programs at UGA, I don't get to many of the tertiary or non-revenue sports that truly deserve the attention.
Swimming & Diving is one of them. Despite being ranked #1, having Olympians on their squad, and being coached by Jack Bauerle (who has Olympic Credentials), I've never gotten to any of their competitions. Until now. I've never shot diving before at the NCAA level and haven't at the HS level since Florida.
Now the Gabrielsen Natatorium here at UGA is a top flight facility. Light wasn't too bad thanks to the new cameras in the world, 2.8/1000th/3200 ISO And i got access - pool deck, and the 10m platform to shoot from as it was 3m and 1m going off at the same time. I could get more overhead of the 1m diving but the 3m dives were much more interesting. Getting on the 5m platform with a wide made a very interesting photo. Alas this would be better suited with a remote in the future although the divers i shot wide were out of contention and during the prelims.
A giant thanks to the ladies of the Iowa State team for explaining what the dive numbers mean.
