Snowpocalpse: Day 2

Daniel said she was involved in a car accident along with her father Monday night. Athens continues to dig out from nearly nine inches of snow that turned area roads to ice overnight.

By this point, the main roads had become passable. After walking countless miles the day before, I was willing to risk driving around own and then hopping out of the car to grab shots.

Snowpocalypse: The Day After

After 5 hours of sleep, it was time to get going and go back out into the snow. We woke up to nearly NINE inches of snow and there wasn't a bad photo anywhere.

Mode of transportation? Footware.

Snowpocalypse: Day 1

The weather reports of the snow starting Friday night left us with the following debate:

Me: "We're debating spending the night at the newspaper."

PJ Friend/Mentor: "We did that for a hurricane in Florida, but for snow in Georgia?"

Its Snowed. AGAIN.

Now I'm from up north. I grew up with snow and snow days and playing in the snow.

Now that I'm older, i don't enjoy it one bit. I have to have to work in it and deal with it. This means not playing in it, despite the two sledding parties i could went to. I worked. I shoveled. I had lenses fog up hours after coming out of the snow.

At least working in this can make some good photos.

Six and one half inches of snow fell in Athens Sunday.

The first inch was amusing.

The novelty wore off as the sun set on my cold and dark house.

It really got annoying when the shoveling out started. Never again i vow, never again.

31 Hours. No Electricity.

Thats my dog Teddy.

No, i don't own Nikon's 35mm t/s and no, thats not a lensbaby. Thats condensation on the lens after being out in the snow working for all afternoon.





We were without power for 31 hours. It was like a horror movie. I moved south to escape the snow, not get 6 1/2 inchs of snow.
