New Camera Goodness!

Well thanks to Jeff Snyder at Adorama Camera and NPS, I am the proud owner of a shiney, new, Nikon D700. And i didn't have to wait forever to get it, either. (Only problem with the whole affair was UPS, whom will deliver between the hours of 8 AM and 7 PM)

So above is my beloved lab Teddy, full frame shot at 6400 ISO on an Nikon 18-35/3.5-4.5 lens at 1/40th @ 3.5 on the monochrome setting using the red filter. (Gold star if you understood that.)

Tomorrow - Football practice. Next week - High ISO testing!

thats some ugly vignetting on the corners, is that the lens hood or just the lens?

No, thats the lens. There is a feature that you can turn on in the camera that will make most of the vignetting go away.

I suppose it goes for whatever look you want. Same thing happens on a 5D with a 24-70, but i dont think t that extent.
