MMA Fighter Brian Bowles

Here's a quick portrait of a local MMA fighter Brian Bowles. Bowles is the World Extreme Cagefighting (WEC) Bantamweight Champion.





Great guy, good shoot. Just tried to make it edgy and went for the desaturated, overprocessed look.

Ive never had the chance to photograph any fighters before and my goal is not to make him pretty. He beats the **** out of people for a living, so you really want to go for lighting that says he beats the **** shit out of people. The photos on the wall i saw were one light softboxed, so i went for more of a contrasty, multilight look.

Works, IMO.
