Violinist Karolyn Troupe is seen in a multiple exposure photo as Venice is Sinking plays at the 40 Watt Club for their CD Release Party for "Sand and Lines" on Friday, July 9, 2010 in Athens, Ga.
So myself and VanHoose checked out Athens' lastest pop band 'Venice is Sinking' during the release of their latest CD "Sand and Lines."
It was a very good show and I got the chance to bust out as many tricks as i could. Great light, christmas lights from the ceiling & mirrors. What else could a photographer ask for?
More photo goodness inside.... As usual I try to avoid anything remotely "cliche" when it comes to concert photography....

(This is the shot they used in the newspaper) Its hard trying to get a 6 or 7 piece band all in one photo on a large stage. 4 isnt bad.
This is a shot in the mirror. I liked the idea of the double image.
There are christmas lights and all sorts of things that hang over the bar. So naturally, i used them to frame the scene.
I had fun framing from the side of the stage. The trumpeter took a step back and it all came together.
Rackzooming. I do this to much.
Another multiple exposure image. The general trick i was trying involved changing lenses between images.
A wider shot from over the bar. The exit sign bothers me.
