NFL Pro Day at UGA

NFL scouts time lineman Jeff Owens running the 40-yard-dash during Pro Day at the University of Georgia on Tuesday March 16, 2010 in Athens, Ga.

Every year, scouts for all 30 NFL teams come to Georgia to evaluate all of the players that have declared for the NFL draft and push them through drills reminiscent of elementary school, well minus the bench press.

The challenge comes in making an interesting photo out of the deal.

The top photo is your basic pro-day photo. The all the scouts and their stopwatches judging the 40-yard dash. Its your basic, story-telling photo that says "The NFL is in town and evaluating these kids."

Linebacker Rennie Curran gets a kiss from his mother during Pro Day at the University of Georgia on Tuesday March 16, 2010 in Athens, Ga.

Nice moment between Rennie Curran and his mom.

Defensive lineman Kade Weston does bench-presses during Pro Day at the University of Georgia on Tuesday March 16, 2010 in Athens, Ga.

First off, its a polecam with a fisheye on a monopod. The attempt was to show the sheer number of people who cram into a large weight room and surround one person as they attempt to lift weights. That and apparently one scout from "Charm City" had a problem with us photographers, mainly because i think i had the audacity to walk in front of him to a kneeling spot 5 minutes before we started.

Wide receiver Michael Moore goes to catch a ball during Pro Day at the University of Georgia on Tuesday March 16, 2010 in Athens, Ga.

Cornerback Prince Miller does the long jump during Pro Day at the University of Georgia on Tuesday March 16, 2010 in Athens, Ga.

Defensive lineman Rod Battle runs the 40-yard-dash during Pro Day at the University of Georgia on Tuesday March 16, 2010 in Athens, Ga.

Originally (and for the past 2 or 3 years), the players ran into the sunlight. Everyone got their nice, pretty pictures. For some unbeknownst reason, they decided to make everyone else - scouts included - look into the sun, causing for some very flat and backlit photos of people running the 40-yard-dash.

Cornerback Bryan Evans takes a break during Pro Day at the University of Georgia on Tuesday March 16, 2010 in Athens, Ga.

Again, Polecam. I figure if you're giving it your all for the job-interview-of-a-lifetime, you're entitled to take a 5 minute break.

Oh wow, Screw Baltimore. Be careful though, they might blame the Ravens suckage on that photographer at scout day.
