My Day with the Georgia State Legislature

Sterlyn Weeks is a lone protester outside of the Capitol on the first day of the 2010 Georgia State Legislature in Atlanta on Monday, January 11, 2010.

Monday i had the pleasure honor responsibility for covering the Georgia State Legislature's opening day.

Its always interesting.

Gov. Sonny Corleone Perdue walks across the House Chamber.

Because of traffic, i had to get up super early from my motel (which totally sucked BTW) which meant no sleep as i had to go pick up my credentials and get parking, and most importantly - coffee.

I did this last year. If you stress too much, you'll mess up. Now I could post all sorts of pictures of politicians, but where's the fun in that? I just tried to get a few unique moments here and there.

Rep. Billy Mitchell talks on a cell phone in a phone boot outside the House of Representatives chamber on the first day of the 2010 Georgia State Legislature as they convene in the Capitol in Atlanta on Monday, January 11, 2010.

Wallace Linsey, doorman for the Senate, gets a cup of coffee on the first day of the 2010 Georgia State Legislature as they convene in the Capitol in Atlanta on Monday, January 11, 2010.

Thats who is allowed in and who must stay out.
